Tribe Halts Casino Construction Near Marysville

The Enterprise Rancheria tribe of Native Americans says it has been forced to halt construction on its casino outside Marysville, near Sacramento, citing obstructionist tactics by competing Native American interests in the area. A host of legal issues continue to delay forward movement on the project, which broke ground in early 2016. 40 acres of land were set aside for the 800-member tribe’s proposed casino project in 2012, and that followed 10 years of negotiation with Yuba County and the City of Marysville.
