NJ Political Impasse a Disaster for Construction Families

Back in June, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie had an argument with the State Assembly there. They wanted to replenish the nearly depleted New Jersey Transportation Fund by raising taxes on gasoline in the state. Christie actually agreed with that. The disagreement, though, was over the governor’s wish to cut other taxes in the state to lessen the impact of the proposed gas tax. And that’s where the conversation stopped. Cold. Hundreds of construction workers idled by Christie’s executive order to halt all NJ transportation construction projects are now beginning to feel the pinch.
