Chances are, we’ve never met in person, but I’ve had the pleasure of creating and delivering Jobsite to you for a little over a year now. It’s time I said hello.I’m Virginia Chere Lucett and I am the Editor-in-Chief of Jobsite. About a year and a half ago, we determined that construction professionals deserved a media home that delivered more than news, but advice, best practices, stories you can dig into, and of course, something that would make you laugh. We created Jobsite as that home, and we’ve been working hard to deliver on that idea. We’ve had our bright moments, and some low ones (thanks for the emails–I appreciate honest feedback), but our focus has never changed. And that focus is YOU, the construction professional who comes from all walks of life, who plays any role in construction, and who loves the industry as much as we do (even more, I’m sure). The special thing about Jobsite is that we are free to cover all the news, and all the great stories out there because Procore empowers us to do so, without constraint. They are a great partner to have in this journey. Together, we both strongly believe that our industry is one of the most amazing, creative, capable industries in the world. And we want to make sure we are doing everything we can to support all the men and women who build our homes, schools, communities… everything we rely on everyday! But we’ve just really gotten our feet wet here. There’s a lot more we aim to provide to you, and we can’t wait to share some exciting news. Because I’m not much for secrets, I want to let you know about a few things coming your way…A life section. We’ve partnered with leading health and wellness companies who will be adding exclusive content surrounding stress, injury prevention, nutrition, exercise, and so much more–developed for construction professionals only.Project news around the country. We’re working with BuildZoom to bring you the latest in jobs started and permits sought or issued. We’ll keep you up to date on the latest big projects around the country.Profiles.Great people, great insights, great advice, and stories are being shared. We can’t wait for you to read some of them headed to the Jobsite! And something Procore has talked about for a while…A community created exclusively for construction professionals where you can connect, network, ask, answer, and more. It’s on the way, we’re really excited about it, and I’ll probably get in trouble for saying too much!
Thank you for being a reader of Jobsite, and please bookmark our site and join us each week (daily even) as we bring you great stories, breaking news (or just news), next-level education, and advice to keep you feeling your best! And if you’re looking to contribute, have advice or a great idea to share, We’re all ears. Please email us at email@example.com. Until then, "keep it classy construction!"Virginia Chere Lucett
