Infrastructure Investment a Big Payoff, says Bloomberg to States

U.S. cities and states stand to make serious revenue if they carefully choose their infrastructure investments. That is the judgement of an opinion piece by Matthew Winkler of Bloomberg. The op-ed piece comes in the midst of a presidential election in which both candidates are making "infrastructure investment" statements as part of their respective platforms. Cited as an example of successful infra-investment is the hyper-modern Denver Int'l Airport which, with its outlandish $2B price tag 30 years ago, was warily received by Denver's citizens. 270,000 jobs and $27B in yearly revenues later, everyone loves the airport.  Read more...
