Construction Corner-Cutting May have Cost Lives in Italy Earthquake


Concerns are surfacing that less-than-top quality construction practices may have contributed to the level of devastation seen in the recent Italian earthquake. Prosecutor Giuseppe Saieva said the quake that killed 290 may have been aided in the scale of the tragedy by poor construction. The prosecutor suggests  property owners who allowed shoddy work may be held responsible for contributing to the quake's large scale ruin of the area.  Read more...
