Alnylam Picks Jacobs to Help Construct $200m RNAi Manufacturing Plant in MA

Genetic medicine firm Alnylam has chosen Jacobs Engineering Group to provide engineering services for its manufacturing plant in Norton, Massachusetts. The plant should be operational by 2018. The $200 million factory will produce the RNAi (interfering RNA) medicines for which the company is known. The genetic therapeutics are principally used at this time to repair liver dysfunction at the genetic level.  The facility will cover 200,000 square feet.
